Challenge

After taking lease of a unit Yvonne was confronted with awful smelling carpets which had been mistreated from the previous tenant’s pets; and hard, cold & outdated floor tiles which were not forgiving on her legs.

With a very tight budget to refurnish the floors she firstly enquired about cost to remove the existing tiles and was quoted $30 per sq/m which was a large part her budget. Whatever surfacing Yvonne decided upon she knew it needed to be capable of being laid over the existing tiles.

Upon making contact with Ustik® Yvonne was able to understand the product features and to select a colour from the ‘free’ sample pack which she was provided. Ustik’s previous experience with laying the Ustik® planks successfully over existing tiles provided her the confidence to use the product.

Once completed Yvonne couldn’t believe how quiet, warm and easy to clean the flooring is compared to the ceramic tiles. The Ustik’s 3mm rubber ‘self-stick’ backing has fantastic comfort, thermal properties and acoustic benefits. This is a great benefit over the hard tiled surface which is unforgiving.
