Taya B. Ustik Walnut

Challenge

Taya was converting her garage into a hairdressing salon and really wasn’t sure about which type of flooring to use. She knew she wanted something which is durable, easy to clean, looks good but most importantly a surface which is comfortable to stand on all day. After an hours visit to a large retail store to research her options Taya left without anyone approaching her. Taya’s biggest concern how was the flooring installed? Through Facebook and word of mouth Taya came across Ustik so she made contact and found the staff very informative and gave her the confidence she could lay the Ustik planks herself.

Taya recalls

“At the beginning I was really overwhelmed by the thought of the floor preparation and I didn’t know where to start. After talking with Ustik my mind was put to ease because I liked the ‘one-step’ process and I knew I could DIY it. When I began to lay it everything went to plan. I couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was, and the end result was better than I expected. To DIY it was so easy……. I’m extremely happy and all my friends like the floor and are impressed that I did it myself. Ustik is so much quieter than the laminate flooring in the rest of my house, and Ive already started to recommend it to my friends and family! ”.

Taya’s main concerns with her project was what floor preparation was required, and how does she lay it? Once she had answered these concerns she found the installation very easy. Upon completion, Taya noticed how much quieter it is compared to the existing laminate flooring in her house. This is contributed to Ustik’s 3mm rubber ‘selfstick’ backing which has fantastic comfort, thermal properties and acoustic benefits. This is a great benefit over the hard concrete surface which is cold and tiring on your legs. Taya already has another project planned using Ustik, and her father is also looking to use it soon.
